A gathering for families
The “Together for the Future” family day was scheduled for Saturday, June 15, 2024, from noon to 5 p.m., at Parc Lucie-Bruneau, 7051 Avenue de l’Alsace, Anjou.
Activities and community resources
The programme included recreational and educational activities for refugee families and children, psychological and social support workshops, and information stands about available services for refugees.
The gathering combined social connection with access to information, aiming to strengthen links between families and community resources.
Part of the first Afro-Canadian Refugee Week
From June 15 to 20, 2024, VACC organized the first Afro-Canadian Refugee Week in Montreal with IDÉES-AFRIQUE, Migrations et Vies and Fondation Magalie. The family day on June 15 and discussion evening on June 20 were two distinct activities within the same initiative.
